Ring Craft (Breed) Training

Breed Showing, also known as Ring Craft Training, is a discipline where dogs are judged on how closely they meet their breed standard, in terms of appearance, movement, and temperament.

Handlers need to present their dog in the best possible light, ensuring they move confidently around the ring, stand correctly for examination, and behave calmly under the judge’s scrutiny.

It’s an excellent way for owners to showcase their dog’s conformation and temperament.

Start perfecting your dog’s presentation skills at your local dog training club or by following our online at-home programmes.

As you and your dog progress through training you can earn The National Dog Training Award Scheme’s Breed Showing Awards and once you start to excel in the show ring, you can submit your results to The National Dog Competition League.

Make sure to find your local club and check the current award descriptions below to get started in this elegant discipline.
